A recent finish

This was completed several days ago, but it's been so rainy here lately that photographing it was problematic.

70" x 86". Link to how it appeared before Size Reduction Treatment.

All the borders of "I'm so sick of these" fabrics were removed and are back in circulation. Ah well, their time will come eventually.

One of the few designs I can free-motion quilt successfully is the Terry Twist. This is a screen shot I grabbed from Sally Terry's YouTube video (6:12 mark) and I keep it close to hand when I'm quilting. That step 17 is crucial!

I twisted all over this top, eventually breaking away from the 9-square limitation and quilting over large swaths of blocks.

I had to keep this mantra going in my head as I quilted: "less curve, more dwindle". The top-ish light pink square, in its left side, shows what happened if I didn't curb my enthusiastic curves.

This was quilted with King Tut "Mummy's Dearest" on top and YLI "Harvest" in the bobbin (over the hideous moda backing). It's labeled and tagged and ready to be donated to Community First! Village.

  2. If you began it in 2019 then it's high time you got this one done and sent along! I like the design and I have just printed out the plan (the photo and drawing of units 1, 1a, 2, 2a, 3). I also like the quilting design.

    1. With my history, this is a relatively quick turn-around!
