As I was separating out "light" long strips and dark long strips for my current string quilt, I realized there were quite a few black/white fabrics in the bin (left-overs from the log cabin that's sitting in flimsy purgatory at the moment) and an idea for a B&W string quilt started to percolate.
I was thinking of making a Roman Stripe pattern, using the myriad of music-related fabrics I have in my stash as the main triangle for each block. But while trying to come up with the title to this post it occurred to me that using my red fabrics as the main triangle would also be a lot of fun.
OOOoooh! I just remembered I have a red fabric with white treble/bass clefs!
And now I'm thinking I'd want to keep a quilt like this, but really don't need another one for our beds or walls. Perhaps it would make a nice Silent Auction item for our Region's next fund-raiser, whenever we're finally able to gather together and sing/perform/compete.
Thank goodness that as I'm using up fabric in these various fund-raising projects, I'm creating space to store them until such time as they can be displayed to actual people in actual real time, willing to spend actual money to take them off my hands!
Stay tuned....
