So, it turns out fabric-based constructs aren't the only ones that work with swatches.
My son came by the other day and brought his swatches of 3D filaments so I could choose the color for an in-line on/off switch.
In truth, I'd selected a transparent green first, but when he grimaced and said it was fragile and hard to work with, I selected the "Army Green" color instead (seen propped below the stitch regulator on the Singer). As he observed, there are several greens to work with on this machine, so exact matches aren't that critical.
The LQS called the other day to let me know her belt and LED light were in, so I may be spending the rest of the month sewing on her. My mother's May banner is yet to be constructed. Now that taxes are done and mailed in, this sounds like a wonderful way to finish the month of April!
Nice to have the switch color-coordinate with this minty-green machine. How about naming her Araminta?
ReplyDeleteShe's Rosaleen, forever and ever. That's the name of her previous owner, who was the most delightful lady to meet and spend the afternoon with.
DeleteI'll be picking up her belt and the extra LED bulbs this afternoon (an outing with/for my mother, culminating in donuts at the shop next to the LQS), and am looking forward to sewing on her again, especially now that taxes are done!

There's nothing like ticking off a guilt-job for making the rest of the week feel better. For me today that was toilet cleaning and I'll take that over a tax return any day.
